This volume is part of Pandit Madhusudan Ojha’s works on Vedanga-samiksha . In the brahamana texts, vak (speech or sound) has been called pathyasvasti. But vak has several other meanings. The path which sun takes to become visible to us is the same path taken by earth and this path is also known as pathyasvasti. Since agni is the devata of earth, it is called pathyasvasti in Vedic texts. In this work, Ojhaji has made a comprehensive examination of speech and its several components and characteristics as given in the Vedic texts.
पथ्यास्वस्ति
यह ग्रन्थ ओझाजी के वेदाङ्गसमीक्षा विभागान्तर्गत वाक्पदिका नामक ग्रन्थ के प्रकरणभूत ‘वर्णसमीक्षा’ का एक अवान्तर प्रकरण है । ब्राह्मण ग्रन्थों में वाक् को पथ्यास्वस्ति के अभिधान से अभिहित किया गया है जो स्वरव्यञ्जनादि विभाग से विभक्त वर्णरूपा है । इस ग्रन्थ में उन्हीं वर्णों की विभिन्न रूप से समीक्षा की गयी है । यहाँ वर्णमाला का विवेचन विभिन्न प्रकार की मातृकाओं के रूप में किया गया है ।
