National Seminar on Kadambini-Ulkadhikara Part VIII


Shri Shankar Shikshayatan Vedic Research Institute organised a National Seminar on 30 August 2025 (Saturday), 5–7 PM, through an online platform. The seminar was based on themes from the Ulka Adhikara section of Kadambini, authored by Pandit Madhusudan Ojha.

  • Dr. Anil Kumar (Central Sanskrit University, Bhopal) spoke on the conjunction of the Sun with Saturn and Jupiter, highlighting its occurrence in specific constellations and zodiac degrees.
  • Dr. Chandan Hota (Central Sanskrit University, Eklavya Campus, Tripura) discussed the concept of Nāgas in planetary paths, explaining their symbolic significance.
  • Dr. Mrityunjay Kumar Tiwari (Maharshi Panini Sanskrit and Vedic University, Ujjain) presented on the conjunction of the Moon and explained Rahu and Ketu as points of lunar intersections with the solar path.
  • Dr. Yogendra Kumar Sharma (Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, New Delhi) spoke about the results of eclipses, not only of the Sun and Moon but also of stars.
  • Prof. Santosh Kumar Shukla (Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi) emphasised the practical nature of the subject, elaborating on six Vaikārika Bhāvas—Rahu, Ketu, stars, heat waves, dust storms, rainfall, and earthquakes. He also explained the concept of Swarbhānu as the dark half of celestial bodies.

The programme began with a vedic invocation by Dr. Satyavrat Pandey (Maharshi Panini Sanskrit and Vedic University, Ujjain) and was moderated by Dr. Lakshmikant Vimal, Research Officer, Shri Shankar Shikshayatan.

The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from professors, researchers, and Sanskrit scholars across various states, making the event a success.
