We are pleased to announce our annual series of discussions on the Shatapatha Brahmana.
The Shatapatha Brahmana contains 100 chapters. This text provides a comprehensive commentary on the Yajur Veda. The Yajur Veda, in traditional terms, is one of the four Vedas. In terms of its essence or core meaning, it is the Yajur Veda. It consists of two words: Yath and Ju. These refer to life force, air, movement, and speech. Pandit Motilal Shastri’s Hindi commentary on the Shatapatha Brahmana offers insights into various aspects of the Yajur Veda.
