Pandit Madhusudan Ojha has written a well-argued case for travelling abroad. In the olden times, sailing to foreign countries was considered a taboo. It was said to be against the shastras. Ojhaji argued that such travels were within the norms of shastras. He wrote this book in the context of the invitation sent out by the English ruler, King Edward VIII, to his coronation. It was mandatory for all kings and rulers to attend the function. Jaipur king, Sawai Madhosingh, too had to prepare for the travel to London. Ojhaji was his royal guru. He considered the long journey of two to three months against the shastras and hence sought advice from his ministers and advisers. Ojhaji advised him to travel and he also went along with the royal entourage. On their return, there were strong rumours of banishing him from the community. The king too came under criticism. Ojhaji then wrote this volume to prove how foreign travel was considered valid by the shastras.
